When we join together as a church body and worship, we are marrying our hearts’ affection with our minds’ attention to exalt the name of Jesus Christ.

The Heights offers two distinct worship services. We hope you will be a part of what we are doing Sunday mornings!

WORSHIP MINISTRY

Welcome! At The Heights, we believe that Worship is the human response to God’s revelation of Himself. According to Romans 12:1-2, the proper way to respond is by presenting our bodies as “a living and holy sacrifice,” by not being “conformed to this world,” but “transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We try to do that each week in our corporate worship services. We do that by singing hymns, songs and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19), and we do everything that we can to exalt God in HOW we worship (Psalm 95:1-6).

However, this can’t be something we do only on Sunday or by singing a song. We worship daily with our lives. So, when we gather corporately to lift our voices in song to Him, it’s not an isolated event. It’s an outpouring of adoration that is the direct result of our engagement with His presence the other six days of the week.

Preschool Praisers

Psalm 100 encourages us to make a joyful noise to the Lord and that’s the goal of our Pre-K Praisers! It is a privilege to lead your children in the eternal endeavor of praise. Pre-K Praisers is for girls and boys who turn 4 by September 1, and for those in pre-kindergarten.

XFactor

Wednesday nights from 6-7:30pm

The X Factor is an unexplainable experience that draws people in. This year at The Heights, our goal is to draw KIDS in by providing the X Factor. Kids at The Heights and the Worship Ministry are linking arms to give KIDS more…more time, more fun, more time for fun!

KIDS (Kindergarten-6th Grade) will:
-eXplode in worship with Ms. Angela (30 minutes),
-eXplore the Bible with Ms. Rhonda and Mr. Blake (30 minutes)
-enjoy eXtreme fun electives (puppets, dance, sign language, boomwhackers, and more)to learn ways to use our talents for Christ! (30 minutes)

9:15a Traditional Service Choir

It has been said that the heartbeat of the church, their spirit and personality, is revealed in its worship. Dead, declining, and spirit-less churches all have 3 things in common … they have dead, declining, and spirit-less worship. Worship Choir members are entrusted with the heart of the church. They have the awesome responsibility of leading the church family to worship Almighty God. Come and join us in praise to the Lord!

9:15a Traditional Service Orchestra

On Sunday mornings, the orchestra leads in worship for the 9:15a traditional service. Wednesday evening rehearsals are from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. Praise Team Vocalist

Everyone who desires to be a part of our praise team ministry must go through an audition/interview process with the Minister of Worship. These interviews are generally scheduled once each year. We ask for a one year commitment of all those who participate. Our heart is for all to be included, but reality says that’s practically impossible. There are various factors that lead to the decision of who is selected for praise teams and who is not. Heart, attitude, love for the Lord, agreement to Praise Team expectations, and commitment to the Church and the Worship Ministry are major factors. Consistent attendance in choir, worship, and praise team ministry is another factor. Praise Team Members, like soloists, are leaders from the Worship Ministry and are to lead by example in faithfulness to rehearsals. Other considerations are the ability to read music, how well one sings their voice part, and how well their voice blends with other voices. These qualities are important to small group singing. Not all solo quality voices make good ensemble singers. Last, and certainly the most important factor, is God’s leadership.

Singing Saints

The Singing Saints meet on Mondays, from September – May, 10 – 11:00 a.m., in the Choir Room. This choir is open to all senior adults (age 55 and up), who have a servant spirit and are willing to make a “JOYFUL NOISE” unto the Lord! The Singing Saints engage in various community, civic, and church ministries across the metroplex, and even go on ministry tours!
